Topic: What can I think about harmful aspects of Smartphone or Mobile Phone on Human being?
Introduction:
Currently, we all use smartphones, young and old. We know that it is an electronic device. This device is connected to wireless waves. And through these waves, we communicate and exchange information. It should have been that we would use the device only for our needs. But in the current context, it is seen that we are using smartphones so much that we are not using the smartphone, but the smartphone is using us. Due to this excessive use, we are facing various types of harm, which is the topic of our article today.
Short Discussion:
Recently, research is being done on the harm of excessive use of smartphones. Based on multiple studies, a report by the Huffington Post has mentioned that users are facing various physical and mental problems due to excessive use of smartphones. Various studies by modern scientists and technologists have revealed various harmful aspects of smartphones. Let us now find out what are the harmful aspects of mobile phones.
1. Neck pain:
The first problem of excessive use of smartphones is neck pain. Neck pain can occur due to prolonged hunching of the head over the smartphone. We spend most of the day behind the smartphone due to excessive gaming addiction, watching videos or paying attention to social media. At this time, it is not possible to maintain the correct distance and body position while using the smartphone. As a result, neck pain occurs due to the user's head being tilted more than normal.
2. Decreased eye brightness:
The second harmful aspect of excessive use of smartphones is reduced eyesight. According to researchers, the issue of decreased eye brightness is related to 'epigenetics'. That is, using a smartphone too close to the eyes for a long time tends to weaken people's eyesight and it can later appear as a kind of genetic problem. According to ophthalmologists, excessive use of smartphones can cause blindness in the user.
According to the American Macular Degeneration Association, the blue light/blue rays of smartphones can cause blindness through long-term damage to the retina of the eye.
3. Hearing loss:
The third harmful effect of excessive smartphone use is hearing loss. Talking on a smartphone for a long time, listening to music at high volume, and wearing headphones all the time can lead to serious problems such as hearing loss. Currently, the rate of hearing loss is highest among people aged 18 to 25. Smartphone users who use their phones for more than 2 to 3 hours a day are at risk of becoming partially deaf within 3 to 5 years.
Again, many accidents are constantly happening while walking and crossing the road while wearing headphones. A large number of accidents involving various vehicles, including trains and buses, that have been headlined in various newspapers are due to careless driving while wearing headphones.
4. Damage to bones and joints:
This is the fourth harmful effect of excessive smartphone use. A report by the dscout blog published on June 16, 2016, revealed that research has shown that an average smartphone user taps, clicks, and swipes their phone screen an average of 2,617 times and a maximum of 5,427 times (although this does not seem accurate or proven to me). Typing on the screen for a long time also causes pain in the finger joints. It is even possible that the user may develop arthritis. Moreover, the smartphone user's sitting posture, the way they talk by holding the phone between their shoulder and ear, and typing messages for a long time while leaning over can increase the risk of various physical problems.
5. Decreased sperm count:
The fifth harmful effect of excessive smartphone use is reduced sperm count. High-frequency electro-magnetic radiation emitted from smartphones and mobiles affects various cells of the human body and the male reproductive system. Wave experts have stated that the harmful waves of smartphones and mobiles can reduce sperm concentration and cause male infertility.
After using a smartphone or mobile, the mobile remains quite hot when kept in the pocket of the pants or the side pocket of the shirt. As a result, it causes the temperature around the testicles to increase. As a result, sperm is damaged.
6. Nomophobia:
The sixth harmful effect caused by excessive smartphone use is nomophobia. Excessive smartphone or mobile use creates a doubt in the mind whether the mobile is there or if it is lost. The name of this doubt disease is nomophobia or no mobile phone phobia. 53 percent of young people in the UK and 29 percent of young people in India are victims of this disease. In addition, excessive use of smartphones or mobiles causes mental stress in the user and its impact on other daily activities is also seen.
7. Hearing sudden ringtones:
One of the harmful aspects of excessive use of smartphones or mobiles is the effect or tendency to hear sudden ringtones. Excessive mobile users hear sudden ringtones or vibrations due to anxiety and depression. That is, they automatically think that someone has called or a notification has come. But in reality, nothing like this has happened. Many users do not even realize that such a problem exists due to excessive mobile use.
8. Irritability:
This is the eighth of the harmful aspects of excessive smartphone use. Due to prolonged use of mobile phones, the user's mood often becomes irritable. At the same time, mental instability and inattention increase. Usually, the user cannot easily realize this problem. He behaves indecently with someone without his knowledge or unwillingness.
9. Decreased thinking power:
The ninth harmful aspect of excessive use of smartphones is reduced thinking power. Excessive use of smartphones or mobiles reduces people's quick thinking power. Due to the decrease in creative talent, the innovative ability and decision-making ability of something decreases. As students resort to various types of fraud and imitation through smartphones, the students of the country are becoming less intelligent day by day. Even talented students are moving away from their moral position.
Due to excessive addiction to games and social media on smartphones, children and adolescents are becoming inattentive in eating, drinking and daily activities. American virus scientist Dr. Devra Divas believes that mobile phone radiation is causing health problems for children. Japan's Docomo Foundation has surveyed five countries and found that smartphones are the cause of 70 percent of children's isolation from family and society. Therefore, it is not appropriate for any parent to give a smartphone or mobile phone to a child before a certain age. Sometimes, to calm a child's crying or anger, parents play cartoons or songs on the mobile phone and give it to the child. The effect of which later becomes a serious problem for that child.
10. Porn addiction:
This is one of the effects of the ease of availability of smartphones and one of the harmful aspects of excessive use. As mobile phones are affordable, mobile phones have become easily available to people of all ages. As a result, smartphones can now be seen in almost everyone's hands. Due to the modernization and digitalization of technology, young people are becoming addicted to pornography through the Internet of Akash culture.
A research report by an organization called 'Manusher Jonna Foundation' has revealed that pornography addiction has developed among 77 percent of school students in the capital Dhaka alone. As a result, along with various physical problems, the tendency of perverted sexual behavior among the youth is increasing at an alarming rate.
11. Increase in rape and murder:
One of the harmful aspects of the easy availability and excessive use of smartphones is the increase in rape and murder. Due to the easy availability of mobile and internet and the resulting addiction to pornography, young people are getting involved in heinous acts like rape. Experts believe that they are committing another serious crime like murdering the victim to avoid accusations after rape and to cover up crimes like rape.
Some other common harmful aspects of mobile phones are-
👉 Family values are being destroyed among children and adolescents and the tendency to disobey the advice of parents or guardians is being observed.
👉 Mobile phones have created a new mental illness called selfie taking or selfietis.
